Fun Trip Through Colorado, Utah and Idaho

Thanks to the crazy Southwest Airlines debacle during Christmas 2022 and the following week or two, I had some awesome time with my daughter driving to Colorado to fly her out of Denver instead of Boise. There's nothing quite like having your daughter as a captive audience for 14 hours in the car :-). We had a good time and since we were driving my Syncro Westy Camper, it of course turned into an adventure.

We pulled off in Rock Springs to get dinner. While going into Mi Ranchito, which was very good, I saw a never ridden Santa Cruz Bod Boyle skateboard deck in Nunzio's Barber Shop. I popped my head in and asked if he wanted to sell the deck. He said how much. I said, "I'm not sure, I'll think about it over Mexican food." Well that is sort of another story... I did buy the deck from him. Back to the Adventure part of our trip. When we were done with dinner, we went out to the van to get back on the road. I went to start the van and what do you know? Van wont start. No way, Vanagon wont start... That never happens...

When I turned the key, all the lights came on but the starter wasn't turning over. I thought about another time one of my vans wouldn't start and I banged the starter with a hammer and it started. I asked Nunzio if he had a hammer. He did. I went out and banged on the starter but I really didnt think that was it. I grabbed a flashlight and slid under the van on the ice and snow on the ground and took a look around. I noticed a larger guage wire that was disconnected.  ...TBC...

Zion's Bank Review - Construction Loan in Idaho

Beware Zions Bank...   I had a construction loan with Zions Bank that converted into a traditional loan mid 2022.   I have to say, it was absolutely unbearable. I had no control over the process and was "blocked" from using their "Built" system to oversee the loan payment process and progress.

In addition, they offered a discount on the loan if I would deposit a fairly large sum of money in an investment account with them. I did open that account and for about two months I never received even a confirmation that the money was received and ready to be moved into investments (stocks, etc). I called the person assigned to me a few times and never received a return call. I inquired in the bank in person for a new representative in the investment area and they said they only had the one. I immediately closed the account and got my money out of there. Absolutely no service.

I still have the construction loan that converted into a regular loan. It is on auto pay so I don't have to interact with them. I just had an interaction to get my tax statement for the construction portion of the loan from last year and the person on the other end of the phone was very condescending and referred me to their partner site to get my password reset. It was just a terrible call... I would not recommend Zions Bank!!! Buyer Beware...
